A masterpost about recent changes

Hello

It's been almost a year. Uni is always keeping me busy and after writing a 1800-word essay, one has no energy or will to write a blog post. But on the contrary, I have so much now to write about! Howrse has made several major changes in the game during the last year and I decided to break them down and give my opinions on them. Have a nice cup of tea and enjoy!

Pouring out the tea for you ;)
Source: Giphy

All the pictures in this post are official Howrse graphics, except the gif and picture of Yggdrasil which was taken by me!

New pass currency system

The most significant changes were made to the currency system. Passes got a whole new value, 1 pass of the old system was turned into 100 passes in the new system. So, if you had, for example, 5 passes, you now have 500 passes. Howrse tried to raise the value of passes this way and stop trafficking, which is against the rules.
I like that pass prices are now more flexible thanks to this new system. Some BM items now cost a little less and there is a bigger possibility of getting a small pass profit when selling horses that are not top-notch.

New pass icon

Piggy Bank (or taxation tbh)

Every time you sell a horse, 10% of its final price will be going to the so called Piggy Bank. The Piggy Bank operates on a scale where after certain amount of money has been put into it by the community through selling horses, two BM items will be available to be bought for equus for 24 hours.
So basically, we have to pay taxes now just like in real life! Not to mention, that this has risen the prices of horses, because we will get less profit. The 24 hour BMs for equus is, nonetheless, a good idea for the more competitive players, but I, personally, have not bought anything through this system. I would like to buy GAs and Harmony packs for equus, but so far they have never showed up there. I can get the items that they offer there for free when completing events. To put it simply, I think this system sucks :(

Some Piggy Bank icon I got here for illustrative purposes.

Yggdrasil and daily objectives

Pass horse system was removed and a new one was introduced. You will no longer be able to receive passes when killing horses over 30. After the change was incorporated, you got a free new divine called Yggdrasil when a horse over 30 died. Now, horses that die at 25 years or later, will be "fed" to Yggdrasil, who ages according to how old the horse was when it died. As he ages and grows, he gives you prizes when he reaches a new size.
So no more free passes? Actually, there is a new way to make passes. There are now two daily objectives that give a summary of 30 passes daily if you complete them both. The objectives are, allegedly, made according to how far the player is in the game. If you complete all the objectives seven days in a row, you get to open a free Horn of Plenty. The HOP doesn't stack into your inventory, you open it right away.
If you now do some calculations, you will realise that one gets less passes out of this system per month than before with pass horses. Nevertheless, I personally like this system better. I rarely got 10 horses killed in a month (this lazy ol' ass can't bother to age so much lol), but this system kind of guarantees at least a little amount of passes if you complete at least one objective. The fact that I have never had so many passes before might be a testimony that it works. I am a little salty about the choice of the objectives though. As far as I understand, they were supposed to be made according to how far one is in the game, but one day I get objectives such as "wake 5 horses" and then the next "win one rosette". I have never bred horses that could win rosettes so I will never be able to complete this objective, unless every time this objective pops up I pay a ridiculous sum of money for a rosette horse to get some lousy 20 passes. I think this needs a bit of correcting. If there are no horses in the user's stable that could win rosettes, they should not get this objective. In other news, I like the free divine, although it takes ages to get the prizes.

My baby Yggdrasil

It is early in the morning and my dorm room is so freaking hot, I might have forgotten something important. If I did, I will update this post later.
Anyways, thank you for reading! I hope to post more often again (as always lol).

A guide to blupping your horses

Hello again!

What is this? Two posts in one week? When did that last happen? Nope, your eyes are not deceiving you, this is the second post this week! Hooray!

Every third post on Facebook Howrse groups is asking about blupping. I have to agree, it took me years to understand this system, it can be very confusing for beginners. But worry no more, I am here today to share with you one way to do it - my way!

Please note that all pictures in this post have been taken by me!

The base for blupping is the horse's three best skills. You can find it out, when going to the "Genetic" tab. There you will see your horse's full genetic potential (or GP) and its breakdown. The top three best skills are the ones which work towards increasing your horse's blup. Fully train these skills.

Here is the GP breakdown of one of my horses. Circled are his
three best skills, which count towards his blup.

When you finish training these three best skills, start entering the horse in competitions. Having 20 wins* is vital for getting 100 blup. All wins are counted towards the 20, no matter the discipline or the event. I suggest you to use tack with as high bonuses as possible, to have a bigger chance at winning. Competitions also gain your horse skills, so make sure you take part in competitions that increase your horse's three best skills also. Skills can be gained only in a limited number of competitions, meaning your horse won't be able to forever gain skills competing. Make sure you gain all that is possible to gain in your horse's three best skills.
*Some horses happen to be less lucky and getting even a few wins might seem impossible, but if this is the case, I suggest you to finish rides first and then try competing again, because skills is usually what the non-winners lack.

Simultaneously, when there is some energy left after entering competitions, you should take the horse for rides. Each ride increases three different skills. Take your horse on rides where it's three best skills are increased. Often you have to complete both forest and mountain rides, but there are breeds which require only one ride. You have to complete rides, which means you have to perform this activity until there are no skills left to be gained from it.

This horse has no skills left to be gained from rides.
This horse has skills that can still be gained from rides.

If you have finished all these three steps, your horse's three best skills should now be bolded (see picture below) and you horse fully blupped! You can complete this in a different order, but it is a great idea to train and ride your horse before entering competitions, so it will have bigger chances to win.

This horse's three best skills are bolded, which means the horse
has gained all the possible bonuses in these skills in addition
to training.

Seems easy? Yes it is, once you get the hang of it. Blupping only affects breeding, but what about the skills? It is an important aspect, if your aim is to compete and get good results with your horse. But this will be discussed in a future post!

See you around!

Hunting the GA trophies!

Hello

Summer is upon us and so are finals...I don't think I need to elaborate here :P Anyways, I have been running around Howrse too and have gone Golden Apple crazy! The fact that I have achieved the 50 coats trophy pretty much is the result...

Well who doesn't love to give their bland and basic looking horses some life and colour! I managed to snatch up a good little lot consisting of eight GA horses, plus I've been exchanging and participating in events to get the items needed. Just a few minutes before writing this post I managed to score the one GA coat for every species trophy.

This inspired me to share some tips with you! Whether you are just a casual get-a-GA-once-in-a-while or aspiring to have the biggest collection on the game, I hope here is something for everyone!

  • If you have a lot of Black Market items lying around that you don't use, you can trade some for Golden Apples or even Harmony packs! For example, 2x Poseidon's packs or Bonus packs will definitely give you a Harmony pack or a GA. You have to look around the market and see which exchanges are most likely to be get accepted. If you have enough funds, you can also trade with equus, but this is the more expensive option. If you want to give it a go, you can check out my guide on how to make equus for tips!
  • Participate in events! I am guessing most of you are doing this anyways, but if you are not a very dedicated "eventer" or usually don't participate, I very much encourage you to do so! In recent years, Howrse is giving out bigger and better prizes more easily and these include customization items. If you want to get a free GA or even a Harmony pack, then just actively participate in events! You don't even need to pay passes to get that far! A big chance is that at some point, you will snatch up that desired item! You will also get other items on the way that you can put up for exchange!
  • Facebook groups! I have mentioned them before, but they really are very useful for finding the best deals! The lot that I mentioned above I got thanks to an ad on Facebook.
  • If you are a true hoarder, you can use up every chance to get more customization items. You can have a pass farm to get free passes (if you are wondering what it is, read my older posts!), use any Hermes staffs, Themis scales you get. I don't really recommend this option if hoarding coats is not your only purpose on this game...
  • Don't forget about the horses! GAs alone won't get you trophies, you need horses to put them on to! I have often run into this problem in the past, but now have worked out a system. It is wise to stack horses that need a coat so you'll always have one should you get a GA. You can use horses that don't sell, horses from AP and pass farms. If you happen to get more valuable horses, such as those with pets, it's also a good idea to give them coats to increase their value.
I don't think I invented anything new here, but if at least one beginner found something useful here, then this post's mission is complete!

Happy hoarding!

Looking back at the Memory Game

Hello!

Phew! This semester in uni has been extra crazy! I've been wanting to write a blog post for a long time, but literally every free minute is spent on stuDYING -.-

A new event started today, but let's take a look at the previous event, the Memory Game. I used to do Yay or Nays about events, this is something similar, but gives a broader overview and also has pictures!

Please note that all the pictures in this post have been taken by me!

The Memory Game was just as you'd expect it to be - a memory game! There were 26 levels altogether and every one of them granted you a prize. You could also get some smaller items for matching tiles with the item's picture it gave out, but these were simpler ones, like APs, tack, fortunes etc.

With a little help in the form of a paper and pencil, this game could be made fairly easy! I just wrote down all the tiles and progressed pretty fast! I made it to level 21, which is so close to 22 where I could have gotten a Falabella divine! As always, there was a divine at the end of the board, but for non-pass-using players those are always out of reach, tough I have to admit, this time it was closer!

There was something new with the jokers that I liked - every day one of them was offered for free for one use! One of them revealed some unturned tiles for a few seconds and the other ones indicated tiles from the same family for a few seconds also. The former was very useful, the second I found great when the board was down to fewer tiles.

You couldn't go on forever, there were lives, that you received every day when logging in. It was great that they stacked as I was some days only able to log in for a sec to collect them.

On the second picture I have the level I managed to get to. I forgot to log on in the last morning, which I regret, because I was really hoping for that Harmony pack, but there will be another chance for sure...

The new event, Icelandic hike has proved to be promising also. It has a new and interesting platform. Iceland is also a very interesting place, I would really like to travel there one day, so it's kind of a win-win.

That's all for this time! Have a nice day and good luck, the purge starts in just five days...

What's the deal with stomping

Hello!

I am changing the focus of my blog a bit. I won't be writing so much about my personal game, I will post more game tips and discussions and my own opinions. This is the perfect way to practice writing essays which is very useful for an university student like me!

Today I managed to find some time to add a new page to this blog! You can find the "Useful" page on the top bar under the logo. I will gather there all the useful information that my brain can't or doesn't want to memorise lol. There might be something useful for you too, so go and check it out! Anything specific you want to see? If you comment, I can add it!

In this post I want to dive into a controversial topic: stomping. Let's make an example: a team is blupping their horse(s) and, as we all know, they need to have 20 wins in order to complete that. So to make sure that the wins stay in the team, they take up several competitions and fill all the spots with their horses. But suddenly, a player outside team takes up a spot on the competition and wins, meaning the team gets no gain. This is where the opposition forms. When someone stomps repeatedly, it can be very frustrating for the team, wastes their time and the horse's lifespan, if it is not immortal. On the other hand, the player stomping might have no idea they are doing so, plus they have every right to enter any competition they want to enter into.

Teams have the right to be frustrated, because stomping can greatly affect their progress, but there are no rules against stomping and it is all fair play, unless it's a rival team doing it on purpose (unfortunately, Howrse doesn't have any rules against this either). On Facebook drama groups I've seen the pettiest ones sending an angry message to the stomper, who didn't even know they were doing it. Why waste your energy doing so? Focus it on blupping for the team instead, don't let the inevitable get to your head. I think teams should just be patient and keep trying, eventually, the stomping, be it intentional or not, will come to an end.

Now, on to the stompers. Majority of them have no idea they are doing it. They are just entering competitions to do the same as teams do - blup their horse(s). They all are aiming for the same goal and in such situations a little (or alot!) of competition is inescapable. Also, it is possible that the computer is basically stomping: if the stomper has VIP and auto comp, then the system is entering horses in competitions itself and it can't do anything about stomping - the computer just enters, it doesn't choose.

To conclude, stomping is inevitable. There are no rules written down about it and there is really no way out of it. I suggest teams and other bluppers to just keep a cool mind and just move on and keep trying and if you are not an intentional stomper and just are blupping your horse, just keep doing so and do not worry about anything. If a petty and rude user unexpectedly pops up in your inbox, you have every right to report them.

Keep calm and Howrse on!

New year, new Howrse

Happy new year!

I know it is late, but I've had no chance to tell you guys this, exams have kept me busy. New year, new mes are popular right now, but let me turn it around a bit - new year, new Howrse! I have given a thought about the state of my breeding farms and in conclusion, I've decided to clean them up a bit. Many of my horses have been around for years and inside this time, Howrse has also made several changes to the game. For example, the new blupping system has turned my system upside down and it was in need of some rearrangements. Here's what's going on in my breeding farm right now:

  • I have finished breeding Arabians. Nearly all of them are up for sale. The new blupping system kind of ruined it for me and I am just too lazy to sort things out xD Currently, everything in the "Arabian horses" tab is for sale. All of them are purebred and have whips, also some rare coats are included! Go and check them out and drop a mail with an offer if you are interested!
  • The Arabs will be gone...what's next? Well, I have an idea that has been going around my mind for some time now. Project Super Horse?! Got to think of a better name for this lol, but the thing is, I want to try and mix horses who have different weaker and stronger skills, meaning, if they merge, their offspring's skills are all great. This could be a nice outcome and would really help me to aim a bit higher on the game. I just first have to sell horses I don't need and then see which two breeds I am going to use.
  • I am also planning to do a "spring cleaning" in my beloved Trakehners stable. Most of the horses there are still the offsprings of the foundation mare Ebony, they are low skilled and because of the new blupping system, it is hard for them to win comps (which reminds me I should change their specialty...). Yet, I don't feel like selling them. A good solution would be to move them to AP farm, where they could all be useful and produce me passes. But I still got to give it a thought, let's just see what comes...
In other news, I have some Eye Candy c:

I found a mouse gray Arab with a goat companion in the sales for 50,000 equus and I just had to snatch him up, because I am eyeing that companions throphy. He got a 5th element and a nice look, go and see Ghaith.
More Vintage Apple coats, because Howrse keeps hoarding them as easy-to-get prizes in events:  Emoji, Excel.
A beautiful GA: Gabriel
A Wanderers' Spirit, gonna sell him in the future: A Man After Midnight

That's it for this time! See you!

How to make equus!

Hi!

Christmas is knocking on the door, which means it's time to think about presents! I am pretty sure, that many Howrsers also want to treat themselves with a nice present in-game. But what if you are a beginner (or why not a more experienced player) and are not sure yet how to collect equus efficiently for this expensive treatment? That's why I am dedicating my blog post to earning equus this time. I have recently found out ways how to make good equus myself, so I am going to share my ways with you. Certainly, there are better ways, but I am pretty sure that this one is more simple, any player can follow these tips easily! You are welcome to copy my methods!

  • Sell your horses. Let's be honest, we don't always have horses to just put up for sale with a bigger price, but having smaller sales more often can also bring in a bigger amount of equus! Here's what I do: I run an AP farm, which means I need to produce useless foals all the time to keep the system up and running. I breed no longer active mares and stallions with each other to produce these foals, I also use current AP farmers. Consider using cheaper public coverings, there are a lot of lowers skilled studs out there, whose owners would be grateful if you used them. After these foals are born, I put them up for sale for an amount that is a bit higher than the amount it took me to breed it (unless it is a rare coat, then I will take a look at the market prices, but will always price it a bit lower than the lowest market value). Usually, majority of them will be gone, but those who will not be sold, will be going to my AP farm where they will one day produce me a pass, so it's kind of a win-win situation. The amounts are small, but selling 100 foals like that can bring you in about 450,000 equus! (and I didn't count in the income from the more expensive rare coats!) *To use this method, you don't necessarily need to have an AP farm, but you should consider having it because then you have a use for the foals that don't sell.
  • Enter in competitions. Okay, not the most exciting one, but taking a look at my financial history, I found out that competitions are my 3rd biggest income, which means that this point should not be neglected! Here's how I do it: I already have a lot of horses who are competing, but there can always be more! I have set myself a goal to achieve all the coat trophies and this is an endless work, but you can make it profitable at the same time too! I never buy the coats, I breed them myself. Simultaneously, I use these horses for competing and even if they are low skilled, a lot of them may turn out to be good competitors! Also, any leftovers from this scheme can be put up for sale or be moved to AP farm! Again, win-win!
  • Sell leather. I learned this tip from my ex team members and to be honest, this is a really good source of income, my financial history says it's no.1! First of all, stock up on 25 acre meadows, they are expensive, but worth it in the end. Raise longhorn cows in them. Again the pricey variant, but believe me, you are getting double back later! Longhorn cows take a month to produce leather, so you need to be patient! After you receive the leather, sell it. Leather's reselling value is 5 equus, but from 25 acre meadows you will get a lot of it which means a lot of money! Two meadows produce you 55000 leather and selling it you get 250000 equus! This is the BEST way of earning equus!
  • Exchange with other players. Also a good source of income if you have a lot of leftovers in Black Market. I have joined several Howrse groups on Facebook, where people post when they are looking for something. Keep an eye on these posts as BM items are worth a lot of equus! Also, many players include their wants in their presentations too, so when you are congratulating someone, be sure to check this too, they might be looking for something you have and don't need! Remember, always be polite and kind, because if you are rude and do not fill your promises, you may easily get a bad reputation, which might lead to no one wanting to do deals with you!
So this is pretty much it! Of course, there are a lot other ways to earn income, but I listed the bigger and the more important ones here. So is that it? Of course not! Thanks to all of these exchanges I've managed to score several customisation items, which means eye candy!

Every year in celebration of christmas I give one horse a christmas or winter themed look, this year's chosen one is Everwood!
Manolito Wanderers' Spirit
Airlift 5th Element, he will be for sale once the team's GP limit allows me to! Keep an eye on him!
Chardonnay Vintage Apple
Shaelin Vintage Apple
And the last one has the most important meaning to me. From the recent cards event I got a Holsteiner filly and I decided to give her one of my all time favourite coats. I once had an Irish Hunter named Dreams with that coat who was the foundation for my farm of hunters. I was an inexperienced player then and put her into safe haven, but I still stroke her. So I turned this Holsteiner into an exact replica of her and named her Dreams II. She will stay with me forever and will keep the memory of my beloved Dreams! If you look around the blog, I even have her mentioned a lot of times here, years ago tho.

Wow, this was a very productive blog post I must say lol! If I only had that work-hard attitude in university also xD
See you!

Halloween loot!

Hello!

Halloween is over for this year and I have to say it was a blast on Howrse! A great potions event was on, where it was pretty easy to get good items. I even got my first ever Hermes' winged staff! I am going to spend it on a Nyx Pack(also a first ever of mine lol), but I'll have to first get a horse worthy of it. Probably I just have to buy one, at the pace I am breeding I will never catch up the top skillers and I would really want to give the pack to a special horse.

I also have managed to snatch up a lot of customisation items both in the potions event and in exchanges. A lot of eye candy this time! Here ya go!
Saskatchewan Vintage Apple
Magic Maiden Magic Hat
Magic Merlin Harmony pack
Crepé Seal of Apocalypse
LB Zacharov Harmony pack
Ravensdale Harmony pack
Shutterfly Book of Monsters

I am cleaning out some of the items from my inventory, offering BMI for exchange! I have:
Philotes' strokes
Bonus packs
Fertility wands
In exchange I am accepting equus or other BMI. I am mainly looking for Philosopher's stones, Harmony packs, Golden Apples, 5th elements, Horn of Plentys, but I am considering all offers! Just mail me!

This is it for this time! I hope to see you here next time also! :)

Going solo again

Hello!

Long time, no see! My life has taken a 180° turn. I started university that is not in the town I live in. I am mostly now living in a bigger city, renting an apartment with a classmate and am now experiencing life without parents for the first time. Also, the studies have gone much more harder, forget about the whining I had back when I was in upper secondary, this shit is now real :D I even don't have time to go on Howrse so often. I visit it few times a week. But I can't get my mind onto quitting, this game is still great.

Stuff has happened over there too. For example, today I got expelled from Austrian Beauty team(former Österreichische Schönheit) due to inactivity. I totally understand that. My activity ceased to merely one blup a month and that is not enough at all. May-be it's even better that way, I have one less task to do. I hereby want to thank everyone who recruited me, helped me to learn blupping and the ways of teams. It was an invaluable experience. I am pretty sure I will one day find the time to join a team again.

I finished Etrian game a long time ago and got Wikaila. So far he has given me one stone and is halfway of giving me a second one. Useful divine, but getting the stone takes a lot of time, unfortunately.

Another not so pleasant news, at least for me. Wilderness chose to visit me again, but at that day I was busy, visiting a big horsey event and I didn't log on Howrse. I missed a chance to snatch up rosettes, but oh well, he is going to visit me again some day, I hope.

I got a Nokota from a recent event and started breeding them for coats. Skills don't matter, my goal is just to complete the coats collection and get the trophy. I decided to give them names after the songs of my favourite band Imagine Dragons c:

For the finishing touch, eye candy c:
Chelan
Cassidy
Pontanelle
Mortimer

See you next time!

Thoughts about teams

Hey there!

I promised you a commentary this time, but I have another topic I really want to share my thoughts about, I just have to make way for it!

I have been in Österreichische Schönheit for a month and a half now and being in a team has opened up a new side of Howrse for me. I have been a solitary player all these years and have worked everything out mostly by myself. I have kept a low profile and have actually talked to other players very few times.

In a team, however, communication between players is a must for everything to work out right. But a mixture of people with different views and values and the fact that the majority of Howrse players are female, can also open up dramas.

Ahh, dramas. As soon as I joined the team, I learned and am still learning about players famed for different things, both positive and negative. We also went through a major drama because of one of our ex team member, but these seem to be an every day business in teams.

The rivalry between teams is actually greater than I thought. Teams incorporate and split all the time. This either creates bigger alliances or breaks them. Competition for the no.1 spot in each individual breed and overall is tough.

I have learned to BLUP Haflingers and do it fast. I don't have the advantages of a VIP account, my blupping record is 10 minutes. I am now using this method on my own Haffies, it boosts BLUPs faster.

Also, any leftovers from blupping and breeding stay with me, so I have gathered a lot of Haflinger skillers. I am planning to sell some of them once the GP release allows me to. If you are interested in any of them, drop a mail! I will then reserve it for you once the GP release gets that high. But please be patient, this may take a long time.

I  never understood the importance of AP farms, but now I have started to build one of mine. Over the years I have collected a huge amount of aging points and right now I have no worries about it running out, but AP farms take time to build and I have to think ahead already.

This month and a half have been eventful and exciting. I have some really nice teammates and we have managed to snatch two stars and are now striving higher! I'll update you should something groundbreaking happen :)

I started playing Horse Adventures: Tale of Etria on my phone and within the first day I got the first divine: Etrian. You can see her at All others---> Divine and Wild

I collected enough passes and bought a pegasus account! I immediately made more breeding farms and now my horses are far better organised. Also, I currently have a Philotes' stroke ufo available on my page. So head over to my user page and see them all yourself! :)

And what is a post without some eye candy! Check out these new coats!

I joined a team!

*wipes the dust off blog*
It's been a while...yet again! I've just finished main exams and now I am having a few weeks break before the last one. I've still been on Howrse and I have a lot to write about c:

My Trakehners have reached 5000 GP! This came fast! Mares with positive blup give better offsprings and I always choose stallions with 100 blup. My current best Trake is El Habana with 5184.07 GP. Keep an eye on my sales and you might catch 5000 GP Trakes ;)

Meanwhile, there's been a Wandering horses event and I was determined to get all that I could. I got all except two I wanted, but that's okay. Overall, I added 8 wanderers to my list. You'll find a Yay or Nay below.

I have joined a team. It came unexpectedly, littlepinkmouse messaged me about her new Haflinger breeding team. I was hesitant: I am not up to blupping dozens of horses every day, I have a life outside computer too ya know. But she assured that they are laid back and this breed is anyway dead. So I joined. Within few weeks Österreichische Schönheit has reaced 2nd place in Haflingers team rankings, way to go! I haven't done anything yet for the team lol. I haven't had the time yet, but I one day will for sure!

In today's Yay or Nay...

The Wandering Horses

Pros
  • You'll get free items with the horses.
  • Horses are all fully trained and high skilled, will get you trophies or even rosettes!
  • Possible to get a Divine horse.
  • Feed them gems to earn more points.
Cons
  • Some tasks might be too hard to complete by the end of the event.
  • Compared to previous Wanderers' events, horses have lower skills.
The verdict
Although this event might be hard to complete for newbie players, at least one Wanderer is guaranteed for everyone opening the event. This is a Win.

And last but not least, some eye candy ;) Click the names below to see new coats of these horses.
Strut it Ydris
Semilly
Oberta
Majesty

Thanks for reading and stay tuned! I am planning a commentary for the next post... ;)

Goals

And as I promised, I am back with some more! Plants event has just ended and it's the perfect time to make a Yay or Nay! :3

In today's Yay or Nay...

The Plants Event

Pros
  • Simple: just plant a seed and water the plant.
  • You'll get rewards once the plant has fully grown.
  • Also, when you manage to harvest the carnivorous plant, you'll get a Divine!
  • To earn more seeds, water and other perks, you can complete quests that are fairly easy.
Cons
  • Seeds with better rewards are harder to get.
  • The carnivorous plant grows really slowly - a small chance to get the Divine when you are not a pass buyer.

The verdict
This event is very simple and you don't need to work hard on the quests. Unless you are determined to get the Divine, this game gets you small rewards fairly easily. This is a Win.

I've made myself a goal to not waste my passes anymore and save them for a Pegasus account, a half year one. I'd really love to have more stables, because right now, it is quite cramped here and there are multiple breeds in one farm already. Would like to distinguish them more. Also, the peg accont has many more perks and I'd love have them :3

I bought a Marwari colt and I can't even remember why I did it. Possibly to complete a quest for an event. Anyways, he is a skiller and I am planning to start Marwari breeding with him as soon as I get the possibility to have more stables.

All is said for now and I hope ya'll be back for the next post!

Three months later...

The office is completely empty, as if it was abandoned. Dust flies into the air as you walk through the room. The computer is still open, but no new posts have been added since 30th November, 2016. Suddenly, the door behind you slams open...

Hello my dear Howrsers!

It truly seems as if I've abandoned this place, but hey not yet! A little warning that I won't be posting so often anymore, life is getting onto my way(ahem, school). I've also have had a few hiatuses from Howrse, but nothing too long or dramatic, I can't stop playing it just not yet! Now, off to what has happened within these three months...

Divine and wild horse promotions are becoming more and more frequent, and if I have enough diamonds, I usually take part. Luck was on my side when I played Titan's challenge and found the wild horse Brumby on 5th level! I named her Betelgeuse. She is currently about 60% tame. Have a picture of her :3
Browsing around, I saw a horse with a GA coat I really liked. Her name was For Sale, so I contacted her owner and it wasn't long before she entered my GA collection :3 I named her Sirocco and gave her a Helios' Ray. She is not high skilled. She is still young and not fully trained, I hope she will be a good throphy horse in the future.

Also, go check out other horses who have got new coats meanwhile!

Majesty, GA coat http://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=49512283

That's all for now. I'll tell you about the events in a future post!

A late Halloween update

Good evening!

Zomg, I am over the moon right now because I passed my driving exam several hours ago and I can now officially conquer roads cx But enough about this, it's been a while again just beacuse I have been lazy...Halloween was like ages ago, but I still haven't updated you guys about my this year's halloween catch on Howrse, what a shame! So here ya go!

Thanks to the events I obtained one of each customisation Halloween BM item(except Magic Hat) and also, I bought the new Double-Sided Medallion. If you wanna see which horses got which coats, I have the links here c:
http://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=49066049
http://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=49331820
http://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=49574369

I also got a Hestia's gift thanks to the Halloween event and thanks to this, uni filly Majesty was born. I also won one in the next event, the cards, and twin uni fillies were born, named Sweet Girl and Semilly. Three horned beauties in a short time, woop woop!

My Trakehners reached 4000 GP! The first one to be born was Eagle's Heart with 4246.04 GP! It seems as if it was just yesterday when I bragged about my Trakes reaching 3000...I hope 5000 will come fast!

I haven't done a Yay or Nay for ages, so have one of the recent cards event!

In today's Yay or Nay...

The Celtic Cards

Pros:

  • Really easy: just scratch the cards and receive a prize.

  • To earn the cards you don't need to do much work.

  • You can get great BM items.

  • You can buy cards from flash sales.

 Cons:

  • If you want to trade a duplicate card, you need to pay.

  • Even if you gather all the cards of the same color, they won't stop coming.

  •  Diamond and gold cards are rather rare.

  • Flash sales cards are very expensive and so are cards bought with passes.

The verdict:

The event is really easy and doesn't require almost no work at all to gain prizes, bt it has it's own disadvantages. This is a Tie.

That's all folks, have a nice day!

New personal heights!

Hello from the other side!

I must have called a thousand times...and I finally came! Another two months have passed as fast as a flying eagle! School has begun and life has gone busy, plus trainings, plus driving school...I have so much to do! In the other hand tho, I have many updates to tell you about! Ready? Set. Go!

My Arabians broke the 5000GP border! I already have 5 foals with 5000+GP! They are Amulet, Amazon, Nevada, Artaria, and, born today, Avada. It's a delight to see how long way my Arabians have come! If I remember right, I begun with Blackbird, whose GP is 1334 and it took me 3 years to get here! Well, it's a long time, but I've had many months off the game too, ya know. Anyways, I am already working towards 6000, which should be a good Grand Prix horse's GP ;)

Also, I've managed to complete my Arabian coats collection! I won't stop breeding them tho! I've come so far and I have already spent so much resources on them, I don't wanna stop here :)

After several years, at long last, Wandering horses event returned in September and of course I was eager to take part. I managed to have 8 of them to visit me. They all had very high skills, over 10 000GP. However, not all of them gave me tons of wins. The best one I had was Red Admiral, because she won me my first ever rosette! I was so delighted to see that a horse that I bred won a rosette! Here are some picture proofs, I am not bluffing :P

Thanks to Red Admiral I currently have two rosette trophies too, but unfortunately, they won't last long, unless I win another rosette.

Also, I bred my first 6000+GP horse! Capricorn gave me Cadillac, a future star! I do hope she'll serve me well!

That's all for this time! I hope I'll come back here soon :P

See you!

A delightful post!

Howdy, howdy, my dear howrsers!

I don't know why, but I feel so delighted today, I really have no reason: temperature is pretty warm outside, but there's no sign of sun. I guess it's because I had a blast last weekend with my friends on a little road trip. My weekends tend to go Howrse-free, but I am happy to return there on Mondays c: So, here's some things going on at BHF's (bigger than) small stable...

I got the Drum horse from the maze event, but it turned out to be a stallion...I still decided to keep him and buy a mare once their prices drop, so I could complete the color collection. This little nugget's name is Blake c:

I wasted some money on a skiller - again! But this time I bought a higher skilled Trakehner stallion for the days when there are no 5000+ GP coverings for my Trakehner mares, he could give me some great foals. The stallion's name is Gabriel and he is already fully trained and I gave him a Poseidon's pack(tbh it looks cool on him lol, I don't have any other non-GA horses with Poseidon's gear). I am guessing he is not much of a talent, because when I finished training he had about 3000 skills. I've managed to raise it to 4000 with competitions and rides, I am still halfway, but I hope he will reach 5000.

I decided that I will keep non-immortal GA horses only if their coats and backgrounds 'rock'. It means I will stop caring for them one day, but I won't sell them nor give them a Philospher's stone. This'll help me get the Golden Apple collection throphy and give lots of pretty horses to my stable c: Today, I sorted some out and safe from certain death are: Fiery Kid, Illusions, Midir, Blue Mamba, The City Back and Tanya. I also moved some old elementals and Bewitched Pumpkin horses there. I have many others I could move there, but they are still at a young age and can contribute to my breeding farm.

The Magic Potions event is currently on. Nothing impressive, nothing boring, it's kind of in-the-middle event imo. I'll just keep playing and see if I can get something exciting...

A little reminder for all of you there reading this! If you want to know right away when I have posted something new here, follow me on Twitter @myhowrse. Sometimes I may even bring up a few discussions there, so don't hesitate to reply and tell me about your opinions.

And last, but not least, a little eye candy for you c: I added some fancy backgrounds to some GA horses today, go and see them yourself --->Evana(Trakehners), Narcissa(From foundations)(This coat is my all time favorite!!)

See you next time!

10 000 views!

Good evening, dear Howrsers!

Yes, we have 10 000 views! Thank you everyone who has contributed and takes time to read my blog! Ah yes, now we can cut the cake...

Hellboy has finished his first week at GP! No new records and nothing impressive, but here are the results:

Cross-country: 1651st
Trot race: 1070th
Show jumping: 963rd BEST!
Dressage: 1156th
Gallop race: 1345th

As you see, he was the best at show jumping and I decided to start sending him to SJ competitions from now on, instead cross-country. And he got several 1st placings already, so I think I made the right decision :)

My overall placing for this week's GP is 328th. I don't remember if I've had better placings or not, but this one is pretty good actually, isn't it?

Today, Kept Secret gave birth to her first offspring! It's a crossbred Lusitano colt, 5469.22 GP, with a fab name: The Whiskey Bandit c: Inborn skills 1104.78, this colt is pure joy! I hope he will serve well for me in the future! *fingers crossed*

That's it for this time, I hope to see you here next time also c:

Thrills and spills

Hello dear howrsers!

My summer has been a  jam packed one, I've even had a two week hiatus from Howrse, because my laptop broke down :( Now they are fixing it and I have a old PC for use that is almost as old as me lol, but works like clockwork! Talking about age, I celebrated my 18th birthday recently! So, bear in mind that when you want to message me, kids, you are talking with an (not-so)adult :P

Tanya has given me one more skiller: Ravensdale. He is her last foal, because Tanya's health is already decreasing and I don't want to risk losing foals. But Kept Secret is in foal for the first time! I bred her with best available horse(a purebred Lusitano) on Howrse and let's see what comes out! c:

Opal has turned out to be a superb trail class horse! He always comes back with golden throphies! I hope that one day, when I have skilled him enough, he will earn me a rosette or two c: #bhfdreams

A skiller that I once bought, Triton, has been standing in my stable doing nothing. I have tried to sell him, but my prices seem to be too high oops. Anyways, he is available, just mail me with an offer!

The maze event is back, but this time it's simpler: you can move more than ever before and instead of one maze there are many small mazes with prizes at the end of each. I am currently aiming for the new Drum horse c: I even found a vintage Apple and used it on Fine Design, who is now a flaxen chestnut Akhal-Teke of the old version c:

It's Hellboy's first week at the Grand Prix! Fingers crossed everyone! I hope he does well and manages to break my personal placing records! Current record is 720-something held by Fusion at trot race.

I have nothing else to write currently, but you can check out some horses with new coats I have managed to put on c: See them yourself ---> Fine Design, Taeyon, Attila(Ow's Helios' ray background).

See ya!

BHF is you ded??

Holy moly, it's been 2 months already! Phew! I am sorry for being away for so long, I had a though last period in school, but now it is officially over and the summer holidays are here! Weeheee! More time for blog! I've always had time for Howrse and I'll tell you what has happened c:

Tanya is retired and is currently "working" as a broodmare and besides Capricorn, she has given me 4 more future Grand Prix horses: mares Mrs. Dalloway and Fine Desing, and stallions Fair Play and Taeyon. They all look promising and I am in the middle of training them. Capricorn is doing nicely in comps and seems to exceed the most in cross country.

I wasted some money and bought a new skiller: Hellboy, a purebred KWPN stallion. I have already fully trained him and he has started competing. I also gave him a Golden Apple today that should soon retire c:

Btw, from now on, all my GP horses will have an Apollo's Lyre.

Currently, Pinata event is on and I am just playing and walking along, I won't get anything because I don't want to waste my passes c: Click onto my pinata and I'll click yours! In these two months a board game event has also been on, but I didn't earn anything special from there, so no news here...

But today, BHF made history...the Golden Fleece promotion is on and when I scratched it...*tears of happyness* I got Opal! It took me five years after Jade to get a divine! Yass, thank you lord of luck, I had already lost faith in you! But I have to admit he is kind of not so great, because I basically only have a bigger chance to get diamonds when I feed him carrots and that's just about it. At least I can add him skills using diamonds, this thing is pretty interesting, but it also means I will waste more diamonds and have less for promotions. Oh well, it's a two sided thing, like every good thing in this world. And a little picture proof for you too c:

This is it for this time, I hope I'll see you guys again soon :P

Great horses for 1000? Yes please!

Hiya, fellow Howrse breeders!

Last week has brought excellent warm and sunny weathers to my place and I can't help but just hang around outside. This is what real spring is like! Despite this I am still sitting with Howrse in the evenings, oh no, you can't get ride of me so easily... ;3

You know that button, where you can switch off the equestrian centers' letters? Well, I have never switched it off and now it finally paid off! One center's owner was quitting and she sent the boarders of her center an absolute best deal: she was selling off all her horses with 1000 equus, no matter their value. And as fast as a bolt I asked her to reserve two horses for me and here they are: Silver Cosette and Macbeth! Both have GA coats, Cosette's coat is retired! Both have also won rosettes and have a ton of BM items. I wouldn't say I reached the absolute gold mine, because they both don't have the skills needed to win rosettes today anymore, but this is something that a gold mine would look like if they had higher skills :P They are doing well and winning competitions and both are immortal. I think it was a great deal, because, honestly, when did you last get a immortal RC rosette winner for 1000??

Kept Secret has been bolded and is trying out the GP this week. She is far from a great potential, but at least I get a few bucks from this :P Will let you know how she did!

I started playing early this morning and when I left for five minutes and came back, a new event had started and it is...the cards! Yay! My fave event! Puzzles have very juicy rewards this time, but this also made me doubt: will they be hard to get? If I could at least have that Bonus pack, I would be a happy camper, so I hope that this time my work without passes is gonna pay off.

And to the final point, some pics of my new horses and their stats c:

Silver Cosette

She has a Nyx pack and coat has 316 copies left.
Macbeth. I caught the bolt animation lol :D

11 rosettes, but what surprises me is that he doesn't have Poseidon's pack.

I hope you liked this post, see you soon!

Regards,
BHF
